Halloween Flash Day: 10/31 at noon!
Sterile Saline or Wound Wash with 0.9% Sodium Chloride. We personally love Steri-Wash and NeilMed. DO NOT USE nasal spray, contact lens saline, or any saline that contains additives.
Clean Water. Straight out of the shower is fine as long as your local water supply is clean.
Pointed Tip Cotton Swabs (Wetted). They're ideal for getting into those hard-to-reach areas or underneath disks.
AVOID all chemicals, soaps (even antibacterial), rubbing alcohol, peroxide, ointments, oils, anything marked as "external use only," H2Ocean, DIY-anything, or - simply - any product that is not sterile saline.
Most healing piercings will need shortened up from their longer, initial lengths after swelling subsides.
Downsizing requires a completely new post, which is not included in the original service since individual needs vary (some folks don’t need one, some need multiple, some are visiting out of state and have their home-town piercer swap it for them, etc…).
I don’t charge for the change itself** - you only pay for the jewelry, which I offer for a discounted rate of $10–$15 per post.
Not downsizing can cause migration or irritation.
Please check in around your piercer-recommended timeframe and schedule your downsize appointment.
**Piercings not performed by PBH will incur the standard change fee + full cost of new posts.
Beyond necessary jewelry changes, leave it in for the entire healing period specified by your piercer. Constant removal/reinsertion can cause irritation and regression in healing.
(During your initial appointment, we recommend investing in yourself and getting something you're actually going to like looking at for the next 6-9+ months while it heals).
If it must be temporarily removed for medical procedures or sports - contact your piercer for retainers. Do not leave your piercings empty. They often close/shrink quicker than you may anticipate and can be difficult to reinsert (if at all).
Most piercings require waiting at least six months before swapping to rings.
Many lifestyle factors, medical conditions, and procedures can affect your ability to heal a piercing successfully. You can read more here.
Warm compresses can be helpful when a healing piercing is experiencing irritation, or for loosening difficult-to-remove buildup around jewelry. Warmth increases circulation to the area and can promote drainage. It can be especially soothing after instances of trauma.
Wet compresses with sterile saline and gauze:
Wet compresses with clean water:
Dry compresses (good for moisture-related bumps):
Important: More heat is not always better; scalding water causes burns and additional irritation. Keep the compress comfortably warm, be gentle, and avoid prolonged soaking or keeping the piercing constantly wet.
Your jewelry is held together by tension. To get that tension - you need to bend the pin on your decorative end(s).
Straight Barbells and Labret Posts:
1. Insert the pin ~1/3 of the way into the post. (You will use the post itself to help you bend the pin).
2. Bend the pin in the opposite direction of the post, approx. 10-20 degrees.
3. Push the pin the rest of the way into the post to check the fit; adjust your bend as needed. (More bend = tighter fit. To loosen the fit, bend the pin in the opposite direction to straighten it out.)
TO REMOVE: Grab onto the post and the decorative end - pull apart in opposite directions. It may help to twist the end as you're pulling if they are too tight.
PLEASE NOTE: overworking the pin or bending too much may cause the pin to snap or break.

What to expect day of, and how to make sure you're ready to go!
Drink plenty of water and arrive well-rested and sober. Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages for at least 12 hours prior - as it could still cause your blood to thin the following day.
As a reminder - we will not pierce anyone who is intoxicated, hungover (as these also lead to increased risk of fainting or vomiting), or overly disruptive.
Please Note:
You cannot be pierced if you are currently undergoing chemo, or are pregnant or nursing. You must wait at least 1 year after most surgeries or procedures (cosmetic or otherwise) to be pierced in the area in which the procedure was performed. We cannot pierce through any filler. Always consult with your physician, specialist, or service-provider beforehand to see if receiving a piercing under these conditions will work for you.
You may expect to be in the shop from 45 minutes - 1 hour.
We encourage you to bring small snacks and a drink to your appointment!
*Please note: For safety and focus, no children under 16 are permitted in the studio unless they have a scheduled appointment.
Payment:
We accept cash or digital (CashApp, PayPal, or Venmo).
Sales tax is charged on all jewelry and aftercare purchases.
We do NOT accept card.
• Clothing Choice and Makeup:
Wear comfortable clothing that provides easy access to the area being pierced and will not cause pressure or friction against your piercing.
Avoid wearing foundation or makeup in the area that is being pierced; we will need to clean the area, and this will be removed during the process.
• Practice good hygiene!
Shower or bathe prior and brush your teeth - especially for oral piercings - so you feel refreshed!
• Nourishment and Meds:
Make sure you eat and are well hydrated and do not drink caffeine.
Avoid taking any OTC blood-thinners or anti-inflammatories beforehand as they may cause excess bleeding.
Please inform your piercer of any disorders/ conditions you have or any antibiotics/ medications you take that could affect healing or the procedure.
To avoid cross-contamination, DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PIERCINGS ANYWHERE IN THE STUDIO. DO NOT REMOVE OR INSTALL JEWELRY. We will do it for you.
Thanks for helping us maintain a clean, safe space for everyone!
Something feel off? Reach out! We offer free assistance within 7 days of your service for concerns like needing longer posts or reinstalling dislodged jewelry (original jewelry required — we do not replace lost jewelry).
After 7 days, service fees may apply for jewelry changes, tapering, replacement posts, or other adjustments. After this period, it becomes harder to determine if concerns are related to the original service - especially if aftercare was not followed.
We always make sure you're happy with and approve of all marking/placement prior to piercing. If you later have concerns about placement, I'll review them on a case-by-case basis. Changes due to personal preference will incur our standard piercing fee.
A booking fee is required in advance to secure your appointment and is subtracted from your final total day of. It holds your time so your artist can reserve that slot just for you.
Booking fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
By paying, you are agreeing to all booking terms - please read them carefully.
No-shows or last-minute reschedules, regardless of the reason, may affect your ability to book again, as they impact your artist’s income.
Getting pierced is an exciting experience and it’s natural to want to capture the moment. However:
Video and photo recording is NOT PERMITTED during the procedure, though photos may be taken afterwards! This is a safety, sterility, and liability issue, as well as an issue of personal comfort for your piercer.
Unfortunately, no!
All jewelry in fresh and downsized piercings must be purchased from PBH and completed using brand new, sterilized pieces that are verified in quality and finish from reputable companies that can provide proper mill certificates to avoid liability and healing issues.
If you're bringing in worn jewelry it must be in a clean plastic bag or container and must not be removed. Our piercer will take it from you to reprocess it safely.
Our piercing chair can accommodate a maximum weight capacity up to 350 lbs.
Only ONE guest is permitted in the piercing area at a time to spectate.
This ensures I have enough room to work and move around without creating any hazards.
Children under 16 aren’t permitted in the studio unless they have a scheduled appointment.
We have sharps, blood, and cleaning chemicals present that may pose a risk to little ones, as well as expensive equipment, and other valuable items throughout the studio. We also need to keep distractions to a minimum so our artists can stay focused during procedures.
We kindly ask that you arrange appropriate child care when booking your appointment.
We will never deny a tip! They aren't required/expected but are always appreciated.
We are service providers just like your hairstylist, bartender, and delivery driver. If you choose to tip, you can use the same percentage-based approach you would for other services.
If you are happy with your experience, a nice alternative is to leave us a 5-star review! Good reviews grow our small business and help prospective clients find us more easily.
Simply, anodizing is a process used to change the color of some metals using electricity (no paint or coating involved). By adjusting the voltage, oxide layers, varying in thickness, form on the surface of the titanium. Those layers interact with light waves…essentially allowing our eyes to perceive different colors.
Anodizing is a great lower-cost alternative to solid gold if you want a gold-like look, or if you want fun colors for your jewelry. Anodizing is done in-house for $5.
Please note: anodized colors can fade or discolor over time depending on your body’s pH or in high-friction areas, as rubbing and movement gradually wear down the oxide layer that creates the color.
Your first re-anodization is free. Any additional touch-ups after that are $5 each.
These tips apply to jewelry only and are not aftercare instructions for fresh piercings.
Regularly cleaning your jewelry (only in well healed piercings!) helps to avoid residue buildup that can dull appearance.
TIP: Close or cover drains with a towel when cleaning to avoid accidental loss.
TIP: Water-flossers can be used to clean gross debris between prong settings or at joints
IMPLANT-GRADE TITANIUM
• Clean with mild soap + water. Dry fully to prevent water spots
• Use a soft jewelry cloth to polish the surface
• Store separately to prevent scratches
• Avoid peroxide-based products as they dull surface polish
14K/18K GOLD
• Use a polishing cloth (or sunglasses/device cloth) to buff the piece until discoloration/marks are no longer visible
• Avoid alcohol, peroxide, or harsh cleaners
• Store pieces separately to avoid scratches (gold is much softer than titanium!)
BONE
Organic materials like bone are porous and can be brittle, so they need gentle, dry care and shouldn’t be worn in healing piercings.
• Never soak in water, alcohol, or chemicals as this can cause cracking or warping
• Wipe with a soft cloth after each use.
• Occasionally apply a tiny amount of jojoba or coconut oil to keep it conditioned
• Store away from sunlight, moisture, chemicals.
• Avoid extreme temperature changes
• Over time, color may shift from white to a warm honey-gold as it absorbs natural skin oils
WOOD
Wood jewelry is lightweight, but like bone, it’s porous. Only wear it in healed piercings.
• Keep it dry - no water, showers, or swimming.
• Wipe clean with a dry or lightly oiled microfiber cloth (use natural oils like jojoba or beeswax)
• Avoid extreme heat or humidity, which can cause warping or cracking
• Store in a fabric pouch or box away from direct sunlight
• Avoid dust, moisture, cosmetics, soaps, and other chemicals.
BRASS
• Wash with a soft cloth + mild detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
• For intricate designs, use a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently scrub crevices
• Avoid harsh chemicals, perfumes, lotions, excess moisture
• Remove before swimming or showering - water exposure can accelerate tarnishing
GLASS
• Always handle over a soft surface (like a towel) to avoid breaking if dropped
• Avoid extreme temperature changes: glass can crack if it goes from hot to cold too quickly
• Remove jewelry before any activity that may cause breakage, such as contact sports - especially for thinner pieces, such as retainers
• Store safely in a padded box or fabric pouch.
The reputable companies we use guarantee all jewelry against manufacturing defects and will replace or alter any item at their discretion starting on the date of your purchase and lasting for as long as you own the product.
Warranties do NOT cover loss or damage caused by improper use, chemicals, poor aftercare, modifications, unauthorized repairs, normal wear and tear, or accidents.
If you have a claim, please contact your piercer/jewelry retailer for more information.
You will need to provide detailed information on your specific piece including: Company, Gem Color, Size, Style/Setting, Threading
*ALL SALES FINAL.
No returns, refunds or exchanges for any purchased jewelry due to hygiene.
PBH is not liable for any wear and tear to your jewelry or for items lost while in your possession. Once you leave the studio, it is your responsibility to ensure your jewelry is secure, safe, and properly worn.
Harassment, Abuse, and Inappropriate Behavior
Sexual harassment, predatory behavior, or abusive behavior towards artists or other clients (whether IN or OUTSIDE the studio) will not be tolerated and may result in a permanent ban from future services.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Intoxication / Disruptive Behavior
For the safety of our artists and clients, we reserve the right to refuse or stop service if a client appears intoxicated, impaired, or otherwise unable to safely participate in their appointment.
This includes, but is not limited to:
If service is refused or stopped for these reasons, the appointment may be considered a cancellation/no-show and the book fee may be forfeited.
Booking Fees
Booking fees are PER PERSON and are non-refundable and non-transferrable. They are subtracted from your totals day of.
If you are scheduling with a friend or family and they decide not to/are unable to get pierced for any reason - their book fee is forfeited. It cannot be taken off of your own total even if you paid it for them as these fees cover the time I reserve for EACH person.
Your appointment slot is not guaranteed until the fee is received. We do NOT hold appointment slots.
Reschedules, No-Shows, Late Arrivals
You must give at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule. If you need to move an appointment more than once, you must pay a new booking fee.
If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule and will lose your booking fee.
Right of Refusal
If we have to turn you away for any reason (failure to bring all proper ID, arriving intoxicated, having a health condition that prevents safe piercing, inappropriate or disruptive behavior etc.,) your book fee is forfeited.
Anatomy
Many piercings require an anatomy check. If you opt out of scheduling a (free) prior anatomy consult and your anatomy is not suitable for your requested piercing, having a backup option is strongly recommended, else your book fee is forfeited.
I.D.
You must bring ALL valid ID to every appointment - even if you've been here before (this includes consults and downsizes). We really don't want to turn you away - but we also really don't want to put our careers at risk.
Yes, we technically have your information on file -- but it is among a mass of thousands of other client files - and your ID is required for each new service.
We are appointment only for ALL services.
Walk-in availability is rare but will be announced in advance across my social media platforms.
Both browsing and purchasing jewelry (even last-minute replacement pieces) require an appointment. Jewelry needs to be sized, priced, sterilized, etc., which takes more time than you think. Only a piercer can assist with jewelry services. Other artists in the building do not have access to the necessary information or equipment and cannot assist you.
We begin earlobe piercings at 7 years of age and non-advanced cartilage piercings at age 14. Minors require additional paperwork. These documents can be viewed up above.
Children receiving a piercing must demonstrate an appropriate level of maturity and be able to remain reasonably calm, still, and responsive to instructions. Nervousness is completely okay (and expected), but grabbing, sudden movements, refusing to listen, or parent/guardian interference is not permitted. For everyone’s safety, I will stop or decline the piercing if it cannot be performed safely.
Consent belongs to the person being pierced. I will never force or pressure a child to receive a piercing, and parents or guardians may not do so either. If they change their mind or decide they do not want to proceed, we will respect their decision as it is their body.
I allot extra time for children's piercings, but please note that appointment time, services performed, and tools opened specifically for your appointment remain billable, even if your child decides not to proceed or only completes part of a planned service.
I strongly encourage scheduling a consultation before booking children's piercings. This allows them to become familiar with the studio, learn about the process and aftercare, and ask any questions beforehand.
No one under 16 is allowed in the studio without an appointment. Please do not bring additional guests (friends, siblings, etc.) Our studio contains blood and other biohazards, chemicals, sharp instruments, expensive equipment, glass displays, and valuable or fragile items. Children must be supervised by their parent/guardian and may not touch equipment, displays, jewelry, or other studio items.
